Aradhana Deogharia is a dedicated and enthusiastic Social Researcher and Neurologic Music Therapist having more than 10 years of working experience in India and USA in Mental Health domain of Music Therapy with Seniors.She is also an Author of book title “100 sessions of Indian Music Therapy with Seniors” under the series of writings in Fundamental Research in Music Therapy. She is a Founder and President of Navya Foundation USA, a non for profit organization with a mission and vision to promote fundamental research in Music Therapy across the globe.

She possesses a Master's degree of Social Work (MSW) with specialization in Mental health and Counseling from Vidyasagar School Of Social Work, Kolkata. She is a trained Indian Classical Vocalist from Prayag Sangeet Samiti and an Affiliated Neurologic Music Therapist from the Academy of Neurologic Music Therapy, University of Toronto, Canada.

She has started her career as a Mental Health Social Worker with Apollo Gleneagles Hospital, Kolkata, India, which is a joint venture of Apollo Group of Hospitals, India, and Parkway Health of Singapore. In the year 2014, she laid the foundation stone of Navya Foundation in New Delhi, India with a mission to promote Music Therapy in a holistic approach for the old age population. In the year 2016, she moved to California, USA, and has been working continuously with the mission and vision of Navya Foundation to promote and advocate fundamental research in Music Therapy as an interdisciplinary field of study for holistic well being of seniors and other Neurodegenerative diseases.

Her research areas are Music Therapy in Mental Health of Seniors, Music Therapy and Parkinson’s, Clinical Improvisation and Emotions, Neurologic Music Therapy in Rehabilitation and Music Psychology.

Award and Certificates

She is a recipient of a Special Congressional Recognition Award from the U.S. House of Representatives of California for her outstanding work in Music Therapy to bring wellness to enrich the senior community. The California State Assembly also recognized her for her dedicated efforts to teach wellness and therapy programs to senior citizens to avoid loneliness and maintain peace of mind to stay healthy and happy during the COVID crisis.
